When it comes to your health, you need to make sure that you’re eating the right things and are incorporating a fair amount of exercise into your lifestyle. That way you can stay a healthy weight and still enjoy looking and feeling good. Throughout the last couple of years, there have been some questionable health trends that have left people scratching their heads about how healthy they are. Well, here are some of the ones you should be trying despite their bad reputation.

“Healing” Spices

So, after the cinnamon challenge took the internet by storm, and not in the best of ways, health gurus have been a bit conscious of trying other spice-based diets. Due to this, Gourmet season diets, in particular, “golden milk” have been getting a bit of a bad reputation.

It’s unfortunate because golden milk is a spice-based drink that has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Not only do these spices replace sodium altogether but it is known to boost flavour. Although you shouldn’t be drinking it entirely on its own, it’s good for giving a boost before any exercise regime or before you start a hard-stressful day.

Cannabis Products

Ever since CBD has become legalised, it’s been making its way around the wellness industry with products like CBD oil from VSAVI to CBD face masks and even CBD gummy bears and lattes. Cannabis isn’t just useful for relaxing, it can soothe chronic pain, anxiety and insomnia and leave people leading healthier and more enjoyable lives. It can even help people with endometriosis pain and nausea. Ignore the stigma around it and give it a try!

Charcoal

Activated Charcoal may be a fan favourite when it comes to a whole range of health topics, including teeth whiteness, diet, skincare and even to cure a hangover. Whilst it has been proven to have a whole range of benefits, including whitening teeth and absorbing toxins from the skin, it has not come without its controversy. As activated charcoal works by binding itself to the toxins in your body, there were questions about whether or not it would also bind to more healthier vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Whilst it is not recommended to ingest charcoal then you are using contraceptive pills or antidepressants; it has still been recommended for skin exfoliation and teeth brightening purposes.

Peanut Butter

Peanut Butter has literally had a bad reputation for years. This is because of the previous high salt, sugar, saturated fats and unnecessary ingredients that were hidden in its butter goodness. But now, peanut butter is back and it’s healthier than ever! If you choose a low-sodium brand, you will find that peanut butter can become a good source of protein and vitamin B-6. You can also get a good dose of your essential vitamins and minerals, including magnesium, potassium and zinc. So, don’t feel shy about adding a small coating of peanut butter to your toast or sandwich. It’s healthy!
